How to Receive Notifications for Google Forms on Your Mobile Phone
The method is quite easy and simple, and you just need to follow some of the simple steps by step guide below to proceed.Steps to Recieve Notifications for Google Forms on Your Mobile Phone
Step 1. First of all, you would need to download the add-on for the Google forms named “Email Notifications.” This could be downloaded from the Google Add-on store.Step 2. Next, you would have to download the another piece of software or the app named “IFTTT” on your Android or the iOS mobile device.
Step 3. The thing we need here is to first create the connection between the Email Notifications Add-on and the IFTTT app so that the notifications could be directly sent to the mobile whenever the Google Form is filled, or any respondent interacts with it. For that, we have to configure both of these apps and add-ons.
Step 4.To configure up the IFTTT: open the ifttt.com on your computer and then create the new applet from there. Choose the maker service for if-connection condition and set up the Event name as the name of your Google Form. Now you have to decide on the action for the if-this-then-that option and for that choose the Notifications as the service and set up the text as {{Value 1}}. After all that, click on the Finish button and just return back. Your IFTTT applet would be then created up, and it would be live for the whole of time. Now it’s the time to configure your Google forms side by side so that it could interact with the IFTTT to give the notifications.
Step 5.To Configure the Google Forms: Open any Google Form and then after that go to the Add-on menu. From the options there, choose the Email Notifications option and then after that select the Mobile Notifications option. Just enter the Event Name, IFTTT key, and the Notification text. Keep in mind that the Event Name and the IFTTT key is the same that you have created in the ifttt.com website using the above method. At last to check the connection between your form and the mobile device, just click on the Test button, if everything works fine then click on the Save button to enable the notifications.
For multiple forms, you could utilize the same above method to create the IFTTT and the Google Forms applet and hence the connection between then for the notifications. For any issues with the Notifications:
- Check whether or not your mobile device is connected to the internet service or not
- The event name should be correctly filled in both of the IFTTT websites, and the Google Forms application and both of these should be the same
- You should be logged into the IFTTT app on your mobile device and if it is not then the connection must have been lost
