5G Technology To Feature 20GBps Download Speed!
Well, it was previously confirmed that
5G would be the official successor to 4G wireless connectivity as the
fifth generation mobile wireless connectivity. Now, the specifications
of the much awaited 5G technology were revealed.
The specs were revealed in a draft
report by The International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The report
shows all the details and specifications of the upcoming 5G technology.
The 5G technology will boast a very impressive specification sheet.
Well, ITU has published a draft report
on 5G technology, which will be finalized sometime in November 2017.
There’s still a long way to go. However, the draft gives us a good idea
of what we can expect from the upcoming 5G technology. 5G networks must
support 1 million connected devices per square kilometer.
5G users are expected to get the
download speed of 100MB/sec and upload speed of 50MB/sec. According to
ITU, the total download capacity for each 5G cell must be at least
20GBps, and uplink peak data rate must be 10GBps per mobile base
station. Well, 20GBps must sound fast, but it will be divided into all
the customers in the area.
For high-quality connectivity when the
user is accessing the internet through mobile, the 5G specs must also
have the base station that can cover stationary users all the way up to
vehicles traveling up to 500Km/h.
Well, if we talk about latency then 5G
networks are expected to offer customers a maximum latency of 4ms. The
report also calls for a latency of 1ms for URLLC (Ultra-reliable low
latency communications).
The report also throws light on energy
efficiency by claiming that 5G connectivity must be energy efficient and
it should consume less power when in the idle state.
