Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Explodes “Like A Small Bomb”
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was one of the
hottest topic previous year. The controversies started when Samsung
Galaxy Note 7 started to explode due to some serious problems in factory
battery anode and cathode cell contact.
Samsung had tried very hard to diminish
the problem. However, all of their attempts failed. The company ended up
by suspending the production of Galaxy Note 7. Recently, another
incident was witnessed, and this time it was not the Galaxy Note 7.
According to WDTN,
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge caught fire all of a sudden in Germantown.
Germantown is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. Ohio
couple claimed that they left the phone on the couch while it was
charging.
They heard a sound which Kelly Taylor
describes as “a small bomb.” The phone exploded and left burn marks on a
couch. Kelly Taylor said “We heard like a pop, like a snap. And then we
heard a sizzle, like a smoke bomb being let off. Smoke was pouring off
the couch. And it turned out to be this phone. And it was plugged in to
this charger,”
So,
what caused the phone to explode? Well, the charger and the cable both
looks original. There are no details as to what might have caused the
fire. Kelly Taylor claimed that neither AT&T nor Samsung helped him
to get a newly replaced phone. Samsung is demanding a $200 fee to
replace the phone that caught fire.
Kelly Taylor said, “There wasn’t
anything like ‘oh my goodness, can you bring us the phone and let us
look at it. They didn’t offer anything, They just wanted me to turn it
in on the insurance and pay the $200 deductible.”
The cause of the fire remains
unidentified. However, it might be because of a defective charger,
faulty battery or overheating which might have been caused by the couch
materials.
